Project Planning and Feasibility Studies

Planning for Success

Project Planning and Feasibility Studies is a critical function of what we do as it sets the stage for successful projects. This work is carried out in the Conception stage or early Inception stage of the project along with the full design team to allow assessment of the needs, scope and cost of the project. It requires the compilation of physical data such as topographical, geotechnical, hydrological, wind and seismic data along with traffic flow and population. It is usually necessary to also determine the extent and condition of existing infrastructure along with growth and development plans within the impact area of the proposed development. The compiled data is used to carry out Civil Engineering assessments of Primary infrastructure through traffic impact assessments and determination of main stormwater drains, potable water supply needs and requirements for disposal and treatment of sewage. Preliminary engineering, along with impact on environment and importantly project budget costing are all a part of the project planning and feasibility studies carried out on various Civil and Structural engineering projects carried out by FCS.
